Missed call text-back for US contractors

Updated September 21, 2026

AnswerBot works for US trades and home-service businesses: a missed caller gets a text from a local US number in about 30 seconds, sent on a registered A2P 10DLC campaign, and you get the lead by email. It only ever texts people who called you first, every message carries a STOP opt-out, and it is $129 USD a month on Starter. No AI voice answers your phone.

The product is the same on both sides of the border. What changes for a US shop is the plumbing underneath it: the carrier registration US texting requires, the rules people ask about, the currency, and where your number comes from. That is what this page covers.

On the TCPA and 10DLC, plainly

These are the two questions a US owner asks first, so here is what the product does rather than a promise about your business. Registration:US carriers filter business texts that are not on a registered A2P 10DLC campaign. AnswerBot's brand and US campaign have been registered since May 2026, so its texts are not the unregistered traffic carriers block.

Consent: AnswerBot never texts a list. It only replies to someone who called your business first, about the call they just made, and every message carries a STOP opt-out that is honoured immediately.

That describes the product. Whether your business as a whole meets the TCPA is a question for your own counsel, and no vendor can answer it for you.

Where your number comes from

A text from an unfamiliar out-of-state number reads like spam, so AnswerBot works down a ladder when it sets up your line: a number in your own area code first, then a same-metro overlay, then any number in your state, and only then a US-wide number. Most shops get their own area code. At worst the caller sees an in-state number, never a toll-free one or a Canadian one.

No AI voice on your phone

AnswerBot never puts a voice on the line. The missed caller gets a plain text, answers a few questions about the job in their own time, and you call them back with the details already in hand. Someone who asks for a person is told the owner will call them back.

Who this is for, and who it is not for

For: US owner-operators and 1 to 5 truck shops

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, garage door, locksmith, towing, appliance repair, landscaping and auto repair. You answer when you can and miss it when you cannot.

Not for: businesses that want to text a list

AnswerBot only replies to people who called you. It is not a marketing blaster and cannot be used as one.

What it costs

The USD price is the same number as the CAD price, on purpose. Starter is $129 a month for 25 engaged leads and one location. Growth is $199 for 75 engaged leads, photo capture and up to three locations. Pro is $349 for unlimited engaged leads, your own intake questions and up to ten locations. Billed annually those are $109, $169 and $296 a month. The trial runs 14 days, a card is required at signup, and nothing is charged during it. Setup is about five minutes and you keep your existing number.
